According to the abstract posted by the World Intellectual Property Organization: "A method for Internet Protocol Version 4 (IPv4) / Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6) dual stack terminals to connect to networks is disclosed in the present invention, including: configuring the connection policy with respect to network priorities; according to the connection policy with respect to network priorities, selecting the network to be connected to with the first priority; according to the requirement of the present network, automatically re-configuring the network to connect to an IPv4/IPv6 network. A system for IPv4/IPv6 dual stack terminals to connect to networks is also disclosed in the present invention. In this system, a network connection selection unit is used for selecting the network to be connected to with the first priority according to the configured connection policy with respect to network priorities; a network connection re-configuration unit is used for automatically re-configuring the network to connect to an IPv4/IPv6 network. By using the method and the system of the present invention, terminals supporting both IPv4 and IPv6 are able to connect to IPv4/IPv6 networks automatically."
