Qld: Natasha may be witness in Fraser trial
Teenager NATASHA RYAN may become a witness in the trial against the man who was accusedof murdering her.
LEONARD JOHN FRASER, who's 51, has pleaded not guilty to the murders of 36-year-oldBEVERLY DOREEN LEGGO, 39-year-old JULIE DAWN TURNER and 19-year-old SYLVIA MARIA BENEDETTIbetween December 1998 and April 1999.
FRASER was also on trial for 18-year-old Ms RYAN's murder until it was revealed inthe Brisbane Supreme Court last Thursday that she had been found alive at her boyfriend'sRockhampton home.
Ms RYAN, now aged 18, was today flagged as a witness during the trial after the defencerequested that the prosecution call her.
Justice BRIAN AMBROSE said the matter needs to be discussed without the jury, and legalargument is expected tomorrow.
Also today, some insight has been given into what police have learned of Ms RYAN'sexistence since she was found hiding in a cupboard at the home of her boyfriend SCOTTBLACK last week.
Under cross-examination from barrister ADRIAN GUNDELACH for FRASER, Detective SeniorSergeant DAVID HICKEY's told the court it's now known that Ms RYAN spent the entire fourand a half years with Mr BLACK.
The trial continues tomorrow.
