NSW: Bus drivers to walk off the job after failed meeting
Sydney bus commuters will be inconvenienced again tomorrow as bus drivers walk off
the job for five-hours for another stopwork meeting.
The meeting was rescheduled on Tuesday after 2,000 Sydney government drivers assembled
at Redfern Oval to discuss a pay claim, but a public address system failed to work.
The stopwork meeting will allow drivers to vote on the State Transit Authority's offer
of a six per cent pay rise over two years.
Drivers are asking for a 14 per cent rise over the same period as well as guarantees
on training and other working conditions.
Buses will again cease to operate for five hours tomorrow, starting from 9.30am (AEDT).
