Fed: Telstra restoring 4,500 phone services
CANBERRA, Jan 21 AAP - Telstra crews moved into bushfire ravaged areas of the ACT todayto restore 4,500 telephone services affected by the weekend's blazes.
Telstra Country Wide regional managing director Roger Bamber said inspections had confirmedsignificant damage to the telecommunications network in the south-western suburbs of Duffy,Kambah and Chapman.
He said free call diversions would be provided to customers whose homes or small businesseshad been destroyed by the fires.
