NSW:Dog mauls Sydney toddler

SYDNEY, Aug 7 AAP - A two-year-old girl attacked by a dog in a park in Sydney's south
west is receiving hospital treatment for facial injuries.

The girl was walking through a park in Nicholas Street, Lidcombe, about 7.30pm on Friday
with her mother and a sibling when the the dog struck.

It was described as a dark-coloured, medium sized animal with a muscular build.

Police say the dog was immediately led away by a young man who did not stop to speak
to the girl's mother.

The child was taken to Auburn Hospital with an injury to her right eyelid, as well
as puncture wounds to the right side of her face.
